Crack Detection in Bearing Plate of Prestressed Anchorage Using Electromechanical Impedance Technique: A Numerical Investigation

چکیده

The bearing plate is an important part of a tendon–anchorage subsystem; however, its function and safety can be compromised by factors such as fatigue corrosion. This paper explores the feasibility electromechanical impedance (EMI) technique for crack detection in prestressed anchorage. Firstly, theory EMI presented. Next, well-established anchorage literature selected target structure. Thirdly, 3D finite element model PZT transducer–target subsystem simulated, consisting concrete segment, steel anchor head, instrumented with transducer. prestress load applied to via head. response structure numerically obtained under different simulated cracks using linear analysis frequency domain. Finally, resulting was quantified two damage metrics: root-mean-square deviation correlation coefficient deviation. These metrics are then compared threshold identify presence plate. results show that successfully detected tracking shifts metrics. numerical investigation demonstrates potential non-destructive testing method assessing structural integrity structures.
